2005+ Mustang Six-Speed T-56 Magnum Kit from Hurst Driveline Conversions

The stock TR3650 (2005-2010) or Getrag MT-82 (2011-2012) transmissions are not up to the task of propelling a high horsepower S197 Mustang down the track at speed, an issue exacerbated by the addition of forced induction or other performance engine modifications. Along with sloppy shifting and low life-expectancy, the stock set up with its two-piece driveshaft can cause vibration issues at high speeds.

Thankfully, TREMEC® is releasing an all-new 6-speed aimed specifically at S197 Mustang enthusiasts and Hurst Driveline Conversions is the place to get it. The new ‘direct-shift” T56 Magnum™ for 2005-up Ford Mustangs represents a long awaited solution to the semi-remote shifter woes experienced by many 2005-up Mustang owners, and marks TREMEC’s most significant foray into the Mustang aftermarket since the days of emerging 5.0 Fox-body performance.

Designed almost exclusively with S197 Mustangs in mind, this new model draws from a combination of proven OE (Shelby GT500) and racing (Grand Am Cup) technologies. Featuring an application specific ‘direct-shift’ extension housing, the Magnum solves the issue of numb, inaccurate shifts offered by the factory semi-remote shifter; replacing them instead with crisp, clean, confidence-inspiring throws. The S197's exceptional driver ergonomics are maintained; along with the added ability to custom tailor shift action thanks to TREMEC’s innovative “adjustable-bias” short throw shifter, standard on every new assembly. HDC kits include a “Hurst” branded shifter handle and 6-speed knob for an ultra-custom appearance.

Additional features include a slip yoke rear interface, eliminating the need for complex two-piece driveshafts, and an SFI-approved steel bellhousing for added safety in high-horsepower applications.  Installation is simple thanks to thoughtful design by TREMEC engineers and a TREMEC supplied swap-specific crossmember. In most cases users can even retain their factory clutch release system. All Magnum series transmissions offer a generous 700 lb-ft torque capacity rating, and the choice of two exclusive gear ratio combinations. Like all HDC kits, the new s197 Mustang system comes with an extended warranty and technical support.
