Steve McQueen Heuer Monaco Watch Worn In "Le Mans" Auctioned For $799,500

The Heuer Monaco was almost instantly made famous, when Steve McQueen wore the watch in the 1971 film "Le Mans". Steve McQueen, as racer wore a blue faced, black strap version of the Monaco. In 1969 the brand was called just Heuer (without TAG). The same style watch is still available, now called the TAG Heuer Monaco Calibre 12 Automatic Chronograph CAW2111.FC6183. The original Heuer watch that McQueen wore during the filming of "Le Mans" just recently sold for almost $799,500 at a film memorabilia auction.
