I'm putting out the call to my fellow RPM'ers to help with a situation.

I'm not 100% sure what's wrong, but I believe the window motor (and/or) regular is going bad. It's an intermittent problem, as when I shut the door, it will stop working. The window will remain up, and will not roll down. Then after a few other door shuts after awhile yet, it will start working again. The switch seems to work fine, as it rolls the passenger side window up and down on command. When I press the switch for the driver's side, it just "clicks" as though trying to work.

What do you guys think? Is it an easy fix? I could use technical help, as well as advice and possibly part pricing.

I would check exactly what you said, the motor and/or the regulator. Other than that, I'm afraid I can't be of any help here, but I'm sure someone here has a bit more knowledge.

It's funny, we went out for the car cruise-in night tonight, and after a couple of door slams, it started working again. I hate this intermittency...

If jarring the door made it start working maybe there's just a loose connection somewhere in there.

If I knew how to rip my door apart, I'd check that. I need to find someone who won't charge me $100 to diagnose the problem. I also heard that the motor, when going bad, if the door gets jarred that it can cause intermittent problems. It would be nice if it was just a loose connection~ I'll keep you guys posted when I find something out.

The speaker covers by your side mirrors just pop off, take those off, and take off the speakers also with a screw driver.
While the door is all the way open, by the jamb at the bottom of the door is one of those cheap plastic Ford fasteners, use a flathead to pop it out. Then the door HANDLE cup and the the door cup panel both need to be popped off with the screwdriver.
The door cup panel has the window switches plugged to the back so find the clip and unplug them. Now the entire door panel will come off when it's lifted straight up. Just check all the wiring make sure everything is plugged in and is not shorted. If you need a new module let me know, I bought a spare for my passener window to be One-Touch down.

The gear drive on the motor the rotates the crank mechanism has gone bad and is slipping. $11 part at the local parts store. I had to fix this on mine just after I got the car up and running.
