I was leaving wal mart last night, headed to I5 north on 128th. I hit the light, turned left and hopped on the freeway. One there, I moved over to the middle lane, set my cruise at 65 and was headed home around 115 am.
I look in my mirror and i see a pair of fog lights, corner lights and no head lights weaving around behind and coming up fast. Low and behold(as best I can tell) its the white cobra thats been frequenting wal mart.(gregs old car)
He pulled up next to me and rev'd up a few times and kind of hit it. I floored it and pulled away. I quickly realized he wasn't keeping up, so i let out. About this time he slowed way down. I dropped the truck out of overdrive, and matched his speed. 40mph.... fuck me. He honked it off, and on 3 I floored it. Unfortunately it took a year to downshift, and when it did, it only went to second gear, which left me @ 2500 rpm. Oh well, i stayed in it anyways. By the time i was in second he'd put a car on me. By the time i shifted back into drive i'd put a car on him and kept pulling at a pretty steady pace. @ 110 I shut it down, satisfied with my win. I put 3-4 cars on him from 40-110. He caught me around 70 and kind of quick honked and slowed down. Apparently he wanted round 2. We had a ton of traffic behind us, and I fucking knew it was a bad idea, but against better judgement I ran again. Same story, 40 roll. This time i jumped on it a bit early to get it to downshift. He only put about 1/2 a car on me before I started driving away. I shut down 2-3 ahead @ 100 again. This time I was done. I set the cruise, put the truck back in OD and headed home.
I have no idea whats done to that car. I know its god awful loud next to me, and shoots flames on shifts, which is always impressive. Before everyone says "you should have raped him" take a 4800lb rig, put it at 2400 rpm and floor, it takes a bit to build speed. The L needs a 20 roll or a 60 roll. But you dont always get your race.
About a mile up the road I am in the middle lane, and Mr. cobra is still pacing me in the car pool lane. I see in my mirror a WSP Tahoe roll up behind the cobra. Cobra moves over, Tahoe does the same and lights him up. As soon as that happens, I get lit up too by the WSP car that was right behind me. Fucking dark windows, i didn't even know he was there.
I pulled over @ the pacific exit on the 5, shut the truck down and waited for the ass raping I was about to get. Handed him my ID, explained I had a gun in the door pocket(because I was pretty sure he could see it from the passenger side). He asked about my gun, why i was way up here from Oregon, and if I knew just how fast I went while telling me he watched it all.. I told him no idea on speed, that I was from marysville, and in the navy, and told him about my gun. He asked if I was comfortable with him taking the gun for his safety, which I am. He asked how much I was drinking tonight, and I told him none. He came and got my gun and went to his car with my paperwork. He came back about 2 minutes later, put my gun on my seat, told me not to reach for it, handed me all my paperwork and said "Its not often you get a warning from WSP for speeds like that, but I am going to let you off tonight. Slow it down, and for gods sakes don't let those idiot kids antagonize you"
All in all a crappy night, if I do say myself

So my Trickflow heads arrived today. I figured i'd post up a side by side of them next to your standard 2v PI head. These are heads off my lightning, but for all intents and purposes, they are the same heads as your 99-04 mustang.
First off a bit of info.
The Trickflow heads, out of the box feature a 1.85 intake valve and a 1.45 exhaust valve. the PI heads sport a 1.78 intake and 1.33 exhaust. Most ported PI heads feature a +1mm larger valve, the trick flow heads are about 2.5mm larger.
Here is a shot of the flow numbers on Ported TF's, Stock TF's and Ported PI heads
*courtesy of MMFF
Now for some comparison shots of the heads side by side
I am very excited to get these heads on my shortblock and get this running.
Trickflow has redesigned the combustion chamber on these to get rid of the plug boss to help ward off detonation and headgasket issues that PI heads are known for. They've also moved the intake valve to help with the valve shroud issues.

Ford: EcoBoost Mustang coming "in the very near future"
Source: Nat Shirley / http://www.leftlanenews.com
What has long been just a rumor has finally been confirmed as reality: Ford will soon offer the Mustang with an EcoBoost motor.
“Given the success we’ve had with EcoBoost across the lineup that we’ve talked about, it’s fair to assume that we will have an EcoBoost Mustang in the very near future,” said Derrick Kuzak, Ford ’s group vice president of Global Product Development.
Kuzak didn’t specify just what EcoBoost Ford would offer in the Mustang, but it’s likely to be a four-cylinder unit. The 2.0-liter direct-injected, turbocharged mill from the upcoming Focus ST is a likely candidate, as its 247 horsepower rating would allow it to slot nicely under the ‘stang’s 305 horsepower 3.7-liter V6.
However, given Ford’s willingness in vehicles like the Fusion and the Edge to offer an Ecoboost four with similar power but better mileage than an existing engine, we’d say it’s also possible that Ford could offer an EcoBoosted 2.5-liter four with around 300 horsepower but more mpgs than the 3.7-liter.
For those feeling uneasy about the possibility of a four banger residing in the engine bay of the Mustang, recall that there is a precedent for a performance-oriented pony car with just four cylinders: the 1984-86 Mustang SVO made an impressive (for the time period) 205 horsepower and 245 lb-ft of torque from its turbocharged 2.3-liter inline-four.
Expect to the see the EcoBoost-equipped Mustang in a showroom near you in just a year or two.
