General Mustang Related Discussion / BOWLING GREEN, KY!
« on: October 03, 2011, 10:26 PM »
Ok heres some pictures of some of the cars that attended the Bowling Green NMRA world finals…I tended to drift towards foxbodys hince theres a lot of pics of foxes in her. Fxbodys were well represented and were overall the faster group id say…there were some very fast foxes. I did not get pictures of all the cars…in fast nowhere near all of them. I can tell you it was a great weekend and I plan on doing this again.

Saleens are my favorite

This car ran low 13s…it ran against the maroon SVO which ran 12.89

Really nice newer mustang

SVO, ran very well for being a turbo 4 cyl

One of the many really nice foxes there

A look of several cars waiting to run

Yes I was standing in the staging area and was at times directly behind the track watching the cars go

Here im actually standing behind the fence like I probably should have been most of the time

Saturday morning waiting to get through the gate

Just beautiful

REALLY CLEAN 4 eyed

Nice clean sn95

Another nice clean car

Clean lil mustang 2

Probably the oddest car there…Talked to this guy this is a fox coupe with classic front bumpers on it…the had to cut and section those bumpers as they were 2 inches too wide for the fox car. It looks strange but it was very well done and  very clean.

Another shot of that one

Really clean fox…very nice, love the color well done

On my list of cars to own

VERY NICE CAR

Loved these 2 LX hatches, both clean and sounded really good

Another really nice clean fox…there were many very nice foxes I was glad they were well represented

Clean 93 cobra

Super nice classic

Another nice 4 eyed

Nice clean cars

Another clean classic

Nice sn95 convertible

Good looking truck except for the wheels in my opinion

Truck like this is also on my list of cars to own someday

Wow just beautiful

Another WOW

Fast car..lol

This car sounded amazing

There were some hardcore fast trucks there

This is James car, this is the car we went in…it’s a work on progress but she ran good and we had a great time

Can I get a NICE! lol

One mean convertible …ran very fast and placed 3rd in the bracket racing class on Sat…ran in the 6s in the 1/8th mile

MMMM I like this

Love the yellow

Girl drag racing in this

James in line to run against the mean convertible that was supercharged …good thing it was bracket racing LOL

I love Saleens

Freaking awesome Saleen

Awesome yellow car

Another flawless Saleen

Very nice car

Roush pick up anyone?

2 nice foxes ready to race

Nice fox

Really nice stance on this car, very clean car

Wide open till you see god then brake…lol

Yup they were fast

Fox Body 1979-1993 / OFFICIAL 89 CONVERTIBLE BUILD THREAD
« on: September 13, 2011, 10:38 PM »
ok I am REALLY SORRY I really thought I had a build thread on here with tons of pictures but as it turns out I do not. I am starting one now and I will start from the start. I know you have seen some of the pictures but theres many you have not seen so lets begin. Tonight im posting pictures of body and interior stuff; no neither of these are finished but you can see where the car is going. This weekend I hope to get pictures of the MANY great parts I have for it. I have parts coming in almost every other day right now so I will struggle to keep you absolutely up to date but I will try. This has been a great project and I look forward to getting this car on the road and to some car shows as its going to be beautiful. you might think im crazy as you look at pics like "car show that things ugly" just bare with it and keep waiting to see the updates trust me.
facts about the car
-1989
-original 4 cylinder
-original automatic tranny
-original black and gray interior
-original paint color is black
…and thats it nothing special bought for $500
57
This is the day we went and looked at the car, looks rough but you should have seen some of them I had looked at before this one
56
Hideous wing and tip, yea if we buy it those got first
55
Has a decent and complete interior that’s a plus
54
Get the car home and one of the tires is coming off the rim
53
Front end shortly after she arrived home
52
51
Top is bad
50
49
48
Trunk was full of unspent 22 bullets and lots of ants…like millions of ants
47
Back seat has to go its full of ants
46
Dash is in pretty good shape
45
Yup that goes as well
44
Yes I buffed the paint so I could see just how dirty the car really was
43
Body is STRAIGHT! That along makes this car worth that $500
42
Considering where we found her she cleaned up pretty nice, good body
41
40
39
38
This is probably my favorite picture of this car so far…I have decided to name her Mia at this point
37
Mia with her sister coupe named Maria
36
Mia sharing a blankie with my sisters SVO named Mandy
35
Before rust toughing
34
After rust toughing
33
Front of the car
32
Threw away stock seats, trust me they were nasty
31
Thought about putting GT stuff on her
30
White trash pony
29
28
Dash before
27
26
Dash after
25
Gloss black now
24
Looks awesome if you ask me, still looks like that today
23
The ENTIRE body of this car has been stripped to bare metal
22
And then rust toughed
21
20
19
18
17
16
This is the reason I did the strip for, this was the only spot of rust on the whole car and it was hiding under the original paint…Had I just sanded the original paint a little bit and put paint on top of that I would have rust coming through in a few years and would have wasted all the hard work
15
14
13
12
11
Engine coming out
10
Much better
9
Entire engine bay is now this nice black, its very clean
8
03 Cobra seats that I got for dirt cheap from a local idiot who had no idea what they were actually worth
7
6
5
Front suspension completely tore apart, gathering all the 5 lug stuff for her at this stage
4
That’s going to be sharp
3
Don’t let that picture lie to you the wheel is not actually attached to the car its just hanging out there making the car look better
2
At this point it is decided that the car will remain an LX no more GT stuff and you can start to see it look more like a car
1
Next step is primer

   >:( no more pics tonight sad i know well keep checking for more as I will have more updates coming soon

« on: November 05, 2010, 10:57 PM »
so i got a wrecked parts car where the odometer reads less than 70,000 and we were doubting the trueness of this reading until we got into the engine tonight. well lets just say we are impressed.

cylinder 1 mics at 3.994 by 3.994 there is no ridge in there and the cross hatch is very nice. the engine is really clean so it looks like we are reringing the thing but its gota go to the shop to be sure but here are some pics.

Fox Body 1979-1993 / 89 CONVERTIBLE PROJECT PROGRESS
« on: April 09, 2010, 12:28 PM »
I already had an 87 notch mustang and decided I wanted a convertible. my sister is the one who had actually found the ad for this car. I paid $500 for her, running driving 4 banger pos...I have decided I am going yellow and black with the car, tis getting a 5.0 (can't stand that 4 cylinder sound), and now it looks like we are going 5 speed as well. been a great project so far real nice solid and straight bodied car, I am already 4 months ahead of my schedule I had for it (which is good  :) ) here are some pics of what I have done so far. yes its cosmetically challenged but it will be beautiful again.

this is how we found the convertible

its missing 4 cylinders in this pic, I will add them later lol

Here is a pic of the car after I cleaned it up some

this is the gayest wing I have ever had to remove from a car...throwing that away!

in this pic you can see how nice the body is the paint is ugly but the body is pretty nice for only $500

my coupe and my convertible

GT front goes on, looks like a white trash pony here  ???

GT rear goes on

this would be one of the new headlites that are waiting to go in the car  ;D

for some reason I have not put the pics of the bare metal fender but here is a door

and its bare ass   :P

I will keep everyone updated as I make more progress

General Mustang Related Discussion / New Favorite thing to do
« on: March 17, 2010, 02:54 PM »
So I have been stripping the paint off my convertible foxbody mustang to get it ready for paint. I have already gotten the passenger side fender done, I had put some rattle can primer to keep the metal from getting rusty. Today I was wet sanding the rattle can primer and that fender is so marvelously smooth I ran my hands up and down the fender for 10 minutes loving every minute of it. ...Thats my new favorite thing to do  :D I am hoping to have it on the road spring of 2011. I will post pics when the car isn't do ugly. shes a homely mustang rite now
