CENTRAL / Ponies on the Plains

Ponies on the Plains, the Team Shelby's official Northern Plains 50th anniversary tour comes rolling into Motorsport Park Hastings from September 21-23 in conjunction with the 2nd annual Ford and Mustang Roundup.

Here are a few highlights of the event:

Friday morning "extra" track time
Friday lunch
Friday evening social gathering and Ford presentation at the local IMAX theatre
Saturday morn "high-speed" full track autocross
Saturday lunch at the track
Saturday afternoon track time
Saturday BBQ dinner followed by drag racing at the track
Sunday more track time!
Sunday lunch at the track

Track Guys Driving School will be on hand for Ponies participants all three days!
Open Track Connection will be in attendance for information and advice on suspension and proper setup of your Mustang!

I would get Texas World Speedway to agree to a private track outing to see if we can hit 200mph. Oh, wait, they already agreed to that.

Now I just need to get my hands on a 2013!

EUROPE, ASIA, AUSTRALIA & ELSEWHERE / Shelby's invade Europe!

Next July we will be taking about 20 Shelby's (and their owners  ;)) on a 10 day, 8 country, 2500 mile cruise thru Europe. We will start off in Amsterdam, head to the Nurburgring, the Alps, Italy, Monaco and then to Le Mans. Then back to Amsterdam!

Trip is June 29th - July 9th.

I'll keep you updated as details progress!

Ford has been kind enough to send John Clor down for the event. John is veteran automotive journalist and author. He worked on the design of the new 2012 Boss 302 and currently is the communications manager for the Ford Performance Group and Ford Enthusiast & Club relations. He authored "The Mustang" dynasty, appeared in the Boss 302 Speed TV special and co-narrated the "Making of the Mustang" documentary.

John will be speaking during the banquet and probably doing a Q&A session as well as signing copies of his book!

Just updating everyone on the event. We do still have a few openings still available and we also have a package just for the banquet, car show and poker run.

There will be some very interesting cars there and a GREAT group of people!

NORTH EAST / Mustang track event at Pocono Raceway coming this May

Come join us May 4-7, 2011 in Pennsylvania for three full days of Mustangs, friends and fun. We will have two full days of track time with a complete Performance Driving Clinic (PDC) put on by the Bertil Roos Racing School. The PDC will include classroom instruction and a very intimate student to  instructor  ratio (about 3-1).

We will start things off with a welcome reception at the Chateau Resort and Conference center on Wednesday evening with registration at 6pm. From 7-8 is the welcome reeception with food and an open bar.
Thursday is the PDC and track day. Friday the instructors will be back to help everyone hone their skills even more.
Friday night is the banquet and Saturday morning is the car show and then we leave for the Poker Run and scenic drive.
