With Mazda 6 production being moved out of Flat Rock it appears that either another vehicle like a modern Mark VIII will join the Mustang or that Ford is expecting significantly higher sales with the new S550 Mustang.

Went to the track last Oct...................1st burn-out glazed the clutch, lost 2nd gear & reverse, unable to put any power to the ground............less than 120 on an early shutdown.  ( less than a 1000 ft. )

Its sad that the Gen V Camaro is getting a last of the line send off, and the S197 is not. I agree with all of the points written above, and I thought exactly the same thing when the Z/28 was debuted. What would have been better than a barely street legal , stripped Boss 351 with a high revving 5.8 Trinity naturally aspirated to take the fight to the Z/28? Ford would barely have the ink on the press release dry before 250 or 500 S197 last run Boss 351's were sold after they were announced.

Back in Feb. 2012, the last time it was dyno'd, my tuner promised me ( 20 ) extra hp on the next tune. ( that was with no other upgrades ) .......
.................Based on estimated weight & " crank hp "....it should do a 10.1    1/4..................but..

I just upgraded the intercooler to a 2013 MY unit, put a Spec SS trim clutch & billet steel flywheel, & a Barton shifter.................need 500 " normal driving " miles on the clutch prior to a tune & dyno......( have 223 )
I think on a good day with a little luck 9.99 !!
