Went 172mph in my 08 Mustang. Boosting in 5th with the stock bottom end was foolish. One of my goals is to break 200mph in my Mustang. That's after I put the cage in it though.

I don't know did many blasts up to 160 mph ( limiter) in a very stable feeling 2011 SVTPP GT500 of unnamed ownership in Mexico. But 200 mph is a different story my dream has always been to open road race and do something like the Silver State Challenge.

When I did 176 in Mexico it was an impromptu MAN vs MAN battle of wills with a Kleeman Stage 3 E55 ( 550 hp +). It was stupid since the top was off and the wind was insane at those speeds. It had pedal left , I am thinking 200 mph would have been possible. But I was not lifting until I won or he lifted, I was caught naked with no bottle and we were even for what seemed like an eternity.

I call that feeling the Red Mist of Death basically you will do anything to win, your self preservation instincts go out the window. Its you and the machine as one , your senses are heightened and you focus and clarity is pure. Its a drug I tell you its a drug!
I want a car so violent that the mere thought of full throttle would cause a heart attack. That actually going wide open throttle in would result in nothing less than instant death!

I hit just over 100 on a back road outside my town.  It was stupid for me to do that, even though there was no other traffic.  If I ever push it that hard again, it will definitely be on a closed course.

That was done in a car not too different from the one you now own.

I burried the 120 mph speedo with a stock 302 in my 78 Mustang II with 4 people in the car. I did have a 4 barrel. That was the only mod. It was on that day I learned what a burnt tranny smelt like.

Be smart plan way ahead for anything that can go wrong and plan what you would do, make sure your not doing it on public roads and make sure you have a car that not only go that fast but be able to handle those kinds of speed and stop safe and fast too.

I look back on my Capri and that was crazy the car was made to do it but I sure did not have the driving experience to and was on a public road (when younger one thinks they are invincible)

I plan to make a trip to the salt flats or a couple other dry lake beds to do some speed testing with mine next year after the six speed, gears, IRS swap and a few other upcoming mods.

I did the same in my 71 Mach 1 it had a 351c with the 4 barrel and ram air one time I caught air and blew out my rear air shocks (don't think it helped one of the guys in the back was about 300lbs) never found out how fast that car could go only had the 120 speedo but I did have fun with a couple of the CHP with their 5.0 Amazing I never got a speeding ticket in that car, heck touch wood I think back on it only tickets I ever got in any car was loud and unnecessary noise causing tire to squeal

Many memories of my 93LX convertible burying the needle past 140 and having to let off because the roof was trying to do it's interpretation of a fighter jet canopy being ejected! Those tiny screws never held the top down to the frame at high speed. Those that have driven a fox convertible at high speed know what I'm talkin about.
