I keep seeing 130 a peoples top speeds in cars that I'm sure would kill my litte 86 notch but I had that thing over 150. I have 3.73 gears in my rear end and was thinking of changing to 4.30's because I'd rather have a top speed of 120 and a car that's scary to drive in 1st-3rd. Than a car that will go 150+ but only light up the tires in first I have to clutch it to get 2ed to break. With 4.30's I think 3rd gear will roast tire with no clutch. Any thoughs?

Well did you build the car to do smoke shows with or did you build it to launch hard?
I want a car so violent that the mere thought of full throttle would cause a heart attack. That actually going wide open throttle in would result in nothing less than instant death!

I am pretty sure my 07 GT will exceed 130 with out too many problems, but 130 ish on hwy 20 still leaves me a moment for unexpected animals, cars on the wrong side of the road, and the fact the brakes with EBC pads and rotors still dont slow the car repeatedly
as well as I think they should. The brakes are the next area I am going to work on,when it stops like a Porsche 997 Turbo, then I will be happy !

Baer, Brembo or Wilwood....I am sure you know some peoples who can help you with that! Honestly for me it isn't the fear or even the equipment its the long arm of the law that makes me pause. I honestly would do over 100 mph every day if I had free access to the autobahn, even in my SUV's I would have no problem doing that. I had a certain testing area on my daily commute, an exit that merges back on that I would hit 130 mph pretty much every day on the way home from work. I find it interesting how often, brakes....lighting and tires get overlooked when some add power to their Mustangs.

I didn't build it a rpm member built it and I'm trying to find him but I'd like the car to launch hard but right now the way it is in first at about 5k rev it falls on it's face if I go wot I have to go about half trottle threw first. I think that's a tune issue I'm new to all this kinda learning as I go.

That took some commitment do you think that was all in for CalypsoFox?

One day CalypsoFox will have a 351W stroked to 427 cubic inches and either a big Procharger or twin turbos.  It will definitely laugh at speeds under 170 mph!

It will no problem, I hit 135 easy when I was stock with just axlebacks and it was still climbing but I let off for the same fear, animals, people, cars, and cops haha

LMAO if you call Texas State HWY closed course!!!

But yes the Sheriff Dept. did hold traffic for us so we could run 17 miles of highway at wide open throttle, great times!!!

As a passenger in a certain car number 9 going up to snoqualmie falls I remember seeing 130, that is the fastest I've been as a passenger.

Honestly I think the fastest I've driven was in a hybrid, lol. We were late going to a meeting in MT and I hit high 90's when we were passing someone. The fastest I've been in the mustang would be 96 in the 1/4

This isn't a contest, this is for fun, obviously Chris and many other had much more to go, and to post a speed of 188 on a non-closed road is just plain stupid!!!

In fact that just goes to show what an idiot is.

Nowhere was it said that it was not a closed course run, simply that it was not in Texas. When I said my original statement , I never said that both RPM members achieved these speeds in Texas. Lets not turn this thread into a debate or contest, its just simply those posting up the top speed that was achieved by them and no more.
