Dave Watson bought the Cobra in April of 2009, after having his eye on it for quite a while and knew the history on the car. So it was all in the timing, and when that timing was right he made an offer and found himself the new owner of a TripBlkCobra.



It had a few things that needed to be addressed upon closer inspection but all cars do. So he started in on it and looked after enough things to make himself feel safe about taking the car to the track. After a couple days of abuse at the track and a best time of 11.84@123 on street tires and full weight he decided that some tests should be run on the car. Compression and leakdown tests were done, as it should have run a higher MPH and needless to say... the car had a couple other issues. Since it was now the end of the season anyhow, into the garage it went for a while.



This spring it came back out with some new upgrades (bigger heat exchanger, welded aluminum rad cooling tank, A/F and boost gauges) and new paint, new rearend/bushings and some new tires... as he had to much fun making a video and doing some pics at the end of last year that ended the life of the previous set.

Dave is now just waiting on the new aluminum long block to get here as the original one is tired. Then, new dyno time and after some good break in, back to see what she will run at the track, but being that this is more of a fun car/cruise/show car, it's time there will be limited. More just for Dave's own curiosity.  



So like any car, this is an ongoing project, and one that will never really end. Because well, it just wouldn't be as much fun if it did.
