Are You A "Washer/Waxer" Or A "Driver" ???
« on: May 01, 2012, 09:27 PM »

Are You A "Washer/Waxer" Or A "Driver" ??

Would you rather use a California Duster on your California Special, or drive mach three in your Mach 1 ?? Below we compiled a list of ways to tell if you are a "Washer/Waxer" or "Driver". Feel free to post your additions as well ;)

10 ways to know if you are a "WASHER/WAXER"

1. You have Mustang lawn chairs in your trunk that match your car.
2. You have a Mustang throw blanket to put over yourself while sitting in said lawn chair on cold show days.
3. You have a Letterman jacket with your Mustang embroidered on it, if you are married your wife has a matching one.
4. You keep a diecast mini version of your Mustang to put on your engine at shows
5. You have a professionally designed showboard …maybe even with dyno numbers, but no track times
6. Your Mustang is supercharged and has nitrous and has never been raced
7. Your Mustang is still on it's stock tires
8. Your Mustang has any exterior lighting on it besides head lights, fog lights, tail lights and side markers. (Yes, this includes halos on your headlights or fogs)
9. You can recite on que the number made of your Mustang, in it's color and with it's equipment package
10. You ONLY drive your Mustang on sunny days.

10 ways to know if you are a "DRIVER"

1. You have attended at least 1 track day or HPDE class (and you know what HPDE stands for)
2. You have had your Mustang 4 corner balanced
3. You can't remember what tires came stock on your Mustang
4. You can identify road courses by their shape (Laguna Seca doesn't count.)
5. You do not keep anything in your Mustang except your helmet and gloves (except maybe a fire extinguisher and your locking lug socket)
6. You can recite on que your rwhp, max torque, best lap, best 1/4 mile, best 1/8 mile, trap, personal top speed, reaction, what cars you've beat and what cars have beaten you
7. You blip the throttle on downshifts
8. You know if you are better from a dig or from a roll (and what speed, and which gear is money)
9. Your wife or girlfriend will no longer ride with you in "that" car
10. You drive your Mustang ANY chance you get, even sometimes when you shouldn't

haha I'm a Daily Driver/Washer... ive had some drag strip time and i keep it spotless 95% of the time
-i made a diecast haha
- i have a calypso colored tee
-made a show board
-i know the few cars that ive beaten... and everything else has beaten me
-I do blip the throttle on downshifts
-my car is better from a roll because getting it to 60 is like pulling teeth(12 secs+)

but with a 4-banger idk what im classified as i just love my car and the culture of both the show crowd and the track rats haha

I am definitely more of a driver than a washer/ waxer!
I want a car so violent that the mere thought of full throttle would cause a heart attack. That actually going wide open throttle in would result in nothing less than instant death!

I don't have any on the washer list, 3, 4, and 10 on the driver list.  If I had the budget, I would definitely be performance modding the crap out of it, and probably drive it up to Boss Man to get the full RPM treatment.  From there it would be track days all the time.

Washer: 4 and I put it on the dashboard because I don't want somebody to swipe it.

Driver: 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, (9 no girlfriend so no problem! 10 would be a yes because it is my daily driver but I recently bought a scooter to help with off road times)

Definitely a driver, especially 7. I get a lot of weird looks coming to stops and people think I'm being cocky but it's just something that I've learned to do.

Another way to tell if you're a washer/waxer, you keep two plastic tote boxes in your trunk. Box number one has car wash, wax, detailing spray, tire shine and microfiber rags and box number two has leather cleaner, glass cleaner and a Swiffer brush for the dash and vents.

I drive far too hard to have anything in my trunk with liquid inside!

I'd have to wax my car to be a washer/waxer lol

That was at the FOK Birthday show a couple years ago if I'm not mistaken
