RPM Covers Shelby Bash 2011

RPM's own Jeff Harris "SVO" will be covering Shelby Bash 2011 for all of us here, providing RPM Exclusive photos, video, interviews and editorial.

Jeff told us he was going to be trucking in Warren Faris's "dubbsfaris" GT350 R from Texas to Shelby Bash, in Vegas. So RPM hired Jeff to be our eyes and ears at the event, and called ahead to our friends at Shelby to make sure he'd get press access to all the good stuff.

We look forward to seeing the photos and stories Jeff reports back with, and sharing them with all our RPM Members in this thread.

Been a rough year, I think you definitely deserve a "rockstar smiley" week away from reality !!!

9 days into the year and it's been rough, I hear that New years day my stove stops working looking at $600+ to replace not counting on how to get the old one out (it's from 1954 and will not fit through any doors) started last Jan with the furnace and had the same problem. Was turned down from 2 jobs because of my shoulder (can't even get a interview from McDonald's WTF) Had a good friend seriously hurt Friday night in a car wreck causing me a call interview, and another person I called a friend screwed me costing me $$$. I will probably have to sell Midnight Pony.
The only bright spot is a trip the wife and I have planed to go to CA is less than a week away. Maybe getting away from a town I hate will give me some new hope.

Your right it's been a really hard grind lately.

And as I mentioned, I could really us another weeke to be ready, but then again would really be ready then?? Probably not  :D

Your right, insane, and it gonna be a long trip there, and another one back.

To give a quick glance at this, I still have a few things around here to do, like get my mop chopped, a personal car repair (wouldn't wanna trade Warren a lame Pony for his nice truck  :P), pack, grab a cooler out of the attic that's blocked, and then drive hour and a half to go get the truck, trailer and GT350R drive another hour and a half back to home to meet my friend Scott/co-pilot, then get up at 4:30am make a serious pot of coffee and hammer down the asphult towards Nevada.

Make sure the wifey is all happy  ;)

Mind you this is just the 24 hours before we head out.

Whew! I'm tired already, LOL!

So buckle up, grab your favorite beverage, and look for some cool stuff coming your way.

Now since I'm a gearhead like the rest of you, I'm goning to get you some really cool stuff that you'll like, and to let you know, I'll even try to post up some teaser shots as the events unfold in the evening, and then give you the whole big kahuna when I get back.

Jeff

Thanks RPM you guys rock!!!

ford20, I'll try my best to do whatever it is that you would do while I'm there, and bring you back some pictures.
Believe you me I'm just as shocked as you  ;)

Haha Have fun man! One of these days I'm gonna own a Shelby (thats my dream) and im gonna have to travel cross country to one of these things. They seem like a blastand who can't like hanging out around a bunch of Shelby Mustangs, maybe even a F-150 SS or some dodge Shelbys. Anyway get some good pictures and Scoot and Jeff have a great time at the Shelby Bash. Just curious are they revealing something there?

After a crazy monday that seemed like it would never stop, I got down to San Antonio and picked up our package to haul to the Shelby Bash.

My good friend Scott met me back at the house after driving in from out of town, and he will be the co-pilot on this trip.

To give you another little teaser, Scott owns an original 68' Shelby GT350,  a Big Block 428 67' GT Fastback, and owns and races a 96' Ex-Bob Bondurant Cobra sponsored by Latemodel Restoration Supply.

And in the middle of all this another friend of mine called and wanted to join the trip with us, Chris is an 06' Ford GT owner and new to his family of whips a 2011 Mustang GT/CS 5.0 owner, Chris also has a pretty good "Shoe In" with Ford Racing and has also been suckered in to jump on board and will be meeting us here at the house to join in the mayhem in the morning.

More on these two guys, later.

On my way back to the house from San Antonio, I swung by and fueled everything up, to make sure all we had to do is jump in a leave, first thing in the morning.

So what can possibly happen with three serious gearheads packed into a truck, hauling one of the hottest new Shelby's, and heading for race track, a car company that builds some of the most exciting vehicles with a huge racing history, and the city of SIN in Las Vegas, Nevada ???

That sounds like a recipe for so serious trouble/mayhem, and all out craziness to me, or self portiats of us on the Post Office bill board!  :D

Jeff,

Just make sure none of you wake up to find that you're mysteriously missing a tooth, there's a baby in the closet, and you've stolen a police car.
